The songs were upbeat, contemporary, catchy and heartwarming, in genres that were a perfect concoction of blues, reggae, folk and country with a few Christmas Carols in the bag to herald the Season of cheer!
The music delivered a message - a story of humble beginnings, hope, sacrifice, serendipity and joy – and was brought out in the most elegant, natural manner by each of the band members.
The concert recited a tale; a distillation of the different experiences and nuances in Dominic’s life that revealed the subtle workings of the Gospel, the friends he has made, memories created and different encounters as a musician and composer.
The show was a personal testimony that took us on a journey of life and it’s interpretations through Dominic’s own compositions, with a few novel arrangements of good old classics like ‘Blessed Assurance’ and ‘Because He Lives’ adding colour to the setlist. What really struck home is that even though each song was a unique experience, each one in the audience could relate to them, each with his or her own interpretations. Every song had an underlying message of gratitude; for the small things, the things we take for granted and the things we tend to overlook.
The acoustics in the hall, and the close-knit band which skilfully provided the backbone to the arrangements made it even more exquisite and enchanting. ‘Dominic D’Cruz & friends’ are a great fit together as a band. All of this was packed in a non-stop 90 minute set that kept the crowd engaged and eager to bring on the season of joy and thanksgiving.
The concert is definitely one for the books, and I hold Dominic and his friends to the promise of them doing another show very soon.

'Feel His Presence' - the title track of the show!
One more from my first album - finding God really isn't that difficult!
Dedicated to the memory of the late Rev.Fr. Clement Campos, CSsR, a wonderful priest and a dear friend. This is his composition, and I've done an instrumental...well, 'almost' instrumental version of it.
